Overview

Intranasal delivery of NAD+ utilizes the olfactory and trigeminal pathways to reach the CNS more directly than systemic routes. The pharmacokinetics of intranasal NAD+ in humans are not fully characterized. Clinical evidence is more limited than for systemic delivery.

Mechanism

The nasal mucosa provides access that partially bypasses the blood-brain barrier, potentially allowing higher CNS delivery relative to systemic administration. NAD+ supports neuronal energy metabolism.

Clinical Considerations

• Nasal irritation is possible. Use as directed.
• Not a treatment for neurological conditions or cognitive disorders.

Potential Side Effects

• Nasal irritation, mild burning sensation, or transient congestion — most commonly reported effect.
• Headache reported by some users following use.
