FAQ
About Baseline
Q: What is Baseline? |
Baseline is a physician-founded health technology platform connecting individuals with independently licensed healthcare providers for telehealth consultations, access to compounded peptide and GLP-1 therapy, and a curated supplement store. We are not a clinic. We are a data-driven platform built around the principle that health optimization should start with measurement. |
Q: Is Baseline a doctor or medical practice? |
No. Baseline is a technology platform operated by Pleno Salus LLC. We connect you with independently licensed physicians and mid-level providers (such as nurse practitioners or physician assistants) who make all clinical decisions. Baseline does not employ providers, prescribe medications, or offer medical advice. |
Q: Who are the providers? |
All providers are independently licensed physicians or mid-level providers (such as nurse practitioners or physician assistants) holding active state telemedicine licenses. They are not Baseline employees. Each exercises independent clinical judgment. |
Q: How is Baseline different from other telehealth platforms? |
Three things distinguish Baseline: a physician-founded focus on healthspan optimization (not just weight loss), AI-powered biomarker analysis benchmarked against optimal rather than normal ranges, and an integrated platform covering telehealth, peptides, supplements, and wearable data in one place. Tier 1 is permanently free with no credit card required. |
Therapies & Medications
Q: What does compounded mean? Are these medications FDA-approved? |
Compounded medications are prepared by licensed pharmacies for specific patients as determined by a prescribing provider. They are not FDA-approved — they have not undergone FDA premarket review for safety, efficacy, or quality. The pharmacies we work with are FDA-registered and state-licensed. |
Q: What is the difference between compounded semaglutide and brand-name Ozempic or Wegovy? |
Ozempic and Wegovy are brand-name, FDA-approved semaglutide products. Compounded semaglutide is prepared by a licensed compounding pharmacy and is a distinct, non-approved product. Whether it produces equivalent clinical results has not been independently established. |
Q: Are there contraindications I should know about for GLP-1 medications? |
Yes. GLP-1 receptor agonists including semaglutide and tirzepatide are contraindicated in individuals with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN2). Disclose your full medical and family history during intake. |
Q: Will I definitely receive a prescription after completing an intake? |
No. Completing an intake starts a clinical evaluation — it does not guarantee a prescription. Your provider uses their independent clinical judgment to determine whether a therapy is appropriate for you specifically. Some individuals will not qualify. |
Q: What are the side effects of peptide therapy? |
Side effect profiles vary by compound. GLP-1 medications commonly cause nausea, reduced appetite, and GI symptoms during dose titration. Peptides like BPC-157 and TB-500 are generally well-tolerated; injection site reactions are the most commonly reported effect. Growth hormone secretagogues may cause water retention or tingling in the extremities, particularly early in use. Your provider will review the specific profile of any prescribed therapy. |
Q: What should I do if I experience a side effect? |
For any severe, unexpected, or concerning side effect, stop using the medication and contact your provider through the platform. For a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room immediately. Non-urgent questions can be directed to the Baseline AI assistant for general information or to the support team at hello@improvedbaseline.com. |

Process & Getting Started
Q: How do I get started? |
Create a free Tier 1 account — no credit card required. Take the health quiz to get a personalized protocol starting point. When you are ready, complete an intake for any therapy you are interested in. |
Q: How long does it take to hear back after submitting an intake? |
Most intakes are reviewed by a provider within 24 to 48 business hours. You will receive a notification when your review is complete. |
Q: How are medications shipped? |
Medications are shipped by our pharmacy partners in discreet, unmarked packaging with no indication of the contents. Standard delivery is 5 to 7 business days from the date your prescription is processed and dispensed. |
Q: Can I use my HSA or FSA? |
Prescription medications are generally HSA/FSA eligible when prescribed for a qualifying medical condition. The prescription itself establishes medical necessity. For dual-purpose products, a Letter of Medical Necessity may be issued at checkout through our HSA/FSA payment partner (Medpaid). |
