Synthetic peptide with a preclinical research base in tissue repair.

Overview

BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound-157) is a synthetic pentadecapeptide derived from a sequence found in human gastric juice. It has a substantial body of preclinical research — primarily rodent studies — on tissue repair, gastrointestinal healing, and anti-inflammatory signaling. Human clinical trial data is limited. It is not FDA-approved and is used as an investigational compounded peptide.

Mechanism

Preclinical data suggests involvement in growth factor upregulation, angiogenesis, and modulation of inflammatory pathways. Mechanisms in humans at therapeutic doses have not been fully characterized.

Clinical Considerations

  • Limited human clinical data. Prescribed based on preclinical evidence and clinical judgment.
  • Not a treatment for any diagnosed condition.
  • Requires provider evaluation. Individual response varies.

Potential Side Effects

  • Injection site reactions (mild redness, discomfort) — most commonly reported effect.
  • Mild nausea reported by some users, particularly early in the protocol.
  • Long-term human safety data is limited. No serious adverse events have been prominently documented in available preclinical and observational literature.

All prescriptions require a telehealth consultation with a licensed provider. A prescription is not guaranteed. Individual results vary. Not FDA-approved unless noted otherwise.
